So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Take the time to comment on other player's posts. Lean Cuisine

Top Chef recap time!

Charlize Theron is the shit! That is all.

For the Quickfire Challenge, the cheftestants were paired off into 3 teams of 2: Ed/Paul, Lindsay/Sarah, Hair Accessory/Grayson to squared off in a food relay. I love this sort of thing, separates the boys from the cheftestants. Clean, peel, devein 2 pound of shrimp, shuck a barrel of corn & make fettuccine. All right, de-pooping shrimp! The faster to complete the relay, the more time spent on making a dish w/ the shrimp-corn-fettuccine. Ed/Paul were disqualified for not plating their shrimp, leaving HA/Grayson to take the prize money. Remember when the cheftestants used to get an extra edge in Elimination Challenge when immunity was off the board? Though I suppose the cheftestants would prefer the cold hard cash that the show is doling out. Sarah is also a spoil sport, obviously they lost out because guest judge Cat Cora hates tarragon...obviously.

For the Elimination Challenge, the teams of two had to cook head to head for block party making the same tasty BUT healthy dish. The 200 hundred party guests chose the winning dish. Stupid HM was beset by wasps. He handled it fairly well. Had I been there, I would have screamed and run away. Winning the day was Paul and his yummy Korean BBQ. Grayson got called out for making boring chicken salad. I don't think chicken salad is wise to make on hot day at an outdoor venue. HOWEVER, I would say chicken salad is as fun and exciting as anything else. Getting the boot was Stupid Hair Accessory for crappy boring chicken salad :D

Next week: Peewee!

Drop yr Tacos or I'll Blow yr Brains out!

Friday night SB & I tripped the light fantastic in downtown Sch'dy.

1st stop was Bomber's Burrito bar. 3 words people: Blood. Orange. Margaritas. The Sch'dy Bombers is very very very clean, much cleaner than their Albany cousin. Bit heavy handed w/ the tequila but still damn tasty. SB says they have the best wings EVER. Perfect blend of crispiness and spicy sauce.

$9 per ticket bought us entrance to the GE Theatre at Proctor's to see The Toxic Avenger. It was gross & the acting was terrible but it's still a classic. Lloyd Kaufman was there (head of Troma Films & creator of Toxie) to do a Q&A & sign stuff. SB got his copy of Blood Sucking Freaks signed.

Lots of interesting facial hair on most of the gentlemen folk in the audience. I don't use the word hipster but.......

Also, I found out that talking about 80s metal bands is a new pick up line.

19) What does your URL mean? I have no idea nor do I care

20) What is your greatest weakness; your greatest strength? Greatest weakness: impatience. Greatest strength: dedication

21) Who is your celebrity crush? Hugh Jackman

Bring me the Heart of Snow White!

Top Chef recap time!

And it's wagons ho as the remaining cheftestants travel onwards to San Antonio. There's a place I've always wanted to go to....warm weather, excellent food, beautiful scenery.

There's tension w/ the female cheftestants as the majority of them hate Beverly.....turns out the men hate her too because she's always under foot in the kitchen. I don't hate Bev and I don't like her. Definitely middle of the pack for me.

And that French sweetie Eric Ripert joined Padma in the kitchen for the Quickfire. I really really enjoy Msr. Ripert, he's insightful, knows a good plate of food when he sees one & never is mean spirited in his criticisms. Are you taking notes, Tom Col(dick)io?

For the Quickfire, the cheftestants had to yank ingredients off a fast moving conveyor belt. You snooze, you lose. However, the longer you spend looking for tasty ingredients, the less time you have to cook. The losers were Stupid Hair Accessory Chris, waited for the best stuff: foie gras, lobster & vanilla bean. His flavours did not gel. Seriously, can we get rid of this guy already?! He sucks. Grayson, awww, for too much citrus on her Dover sole & Paul's overly bitter bitter melon & mussels broth. Beverly would have won the Quickfire had she been quicker to plate her tofu. Lindsay won by a technicality w/ her grouper and clam bouillabaisse. Always the bridesmaid, aren't ya, Lindsay?

For the Elimination Challenge, Charlize Theron showed up to plug her upcoming film Snow White & the Hunstman & challenged the cheftestants to make wickedly dark, evil, Gothic meal. That is an awesome awesome concept! I loved this! Cooking doesn't always have to be pretty and sweet. The judges loved all the plates and it really came to to nitpicks to choose a loser. The winner for the week was Paul and his foie gras & bacon, pumpernickel, pickled cherries and beets enchanted wicked forest. If you nixed the foie gras, I would shove my face all up in that! Getting the boot was Bev....whoa! It really did seem like a difficult decision for the judges to make and somebody had to go.

One thing has been nagging me though....usually when a famous non-food person is a guest, they have an "entourage" or bunch of extras to dine w/ them. But not Charlize! Does she not have any friends?

http://sundaystealing.blogspot.com/2012/01/never-ending-meme-ends.html

But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time.Take the time to comment on other player's posts. Shake it, Shake it, Kinnaree

There's a little Japanese/Thai/Korean joint on Lark Street that occupies the place where a Taste of Greece was once housed. It's called Kinnaree. They have been there for exactly one year & for the one year anniversary they offered 20% off yr entire bill for a whole week. HELL YEAH!

Check out their awesome varied menu

Sexybeast had the shumai, miso soup and the crispy duck w/ jasmine rice. I think he enjoyed it, he mostly made snuffling noises & didn't speak much through dinner.....I thought I heard, "Can't talk. Eating!" I had the steamed edamame, one of my most favourite things ever, & spicy stir fried pork w/ string beans & peppers and jasmine rice. So NOM NOM NOM!

Two thumbs up!
