No Marmalade?

I am very late in Top Chef recap. Feeling pretty glum lately....but on w/ the show.

And roving band of merry misfit cheftestants are on the road to Austin.

For the Quickfire Challenge, the cheftestants had to make a dish based off instructions from fans on Twitter.  First, they had to make something w/ bacon, then make their dishes into hash, and finally each cheftestant has grab an ingredient from the pantry and pass off to someone else. Fun & chaotic. The losers: Greyson's wet puff & no bacon, Stupid Hair Do Chris' super salty mess & Ed's bitter burnt hash. Paul was the big winner w/ a trio of bacon dishes. I'll take it!

For the Elimination Challenge, the cheftestants had to create a dish inspired by the person who taught them how to cook. That sounds like a Top Chef Masters challenge. Oh yeah & Patti LaBelle was a judge. Not sure why, I don't really associate Patti w/ Texas but she's fabulous none the less. And the winner was Sarah & her home made sausage stuffed cabbage. Yes and Yes! Sarah is a cheftestant that feel very meh about. And packing it up was Horrible Heather & her Big Foot stroganoff! Yes! You suck! Who the fuck uses rib eye in stroganoff? Idiot cheftestants that's who!

Hope the remaining cheftestants burned some sage after Heather left!

I like your nicknames for the contestants :) Making something good with bacon? Was that really terribly difficult?

SC: a wise person once said "Bacon is the gateway meat for vegetarians" ;-)

The big foot stroganoff looked very wrong. I didn't watch the post elimination play-off thing. Not sure what happened. I hope this is the last we see of Heather.

I think this week is BBQ. Hope you are feeling less glum soon.

Jon: Nyesha has been sweeping the last chef standing competition.

glumness is slowly subsiding....
