This day has sucked. I don't need to be forced into the mandatory "celebrations" at work. Thankfully, I had a client in crisis today and happily ate my lunch in silence w/ my book.

My mother is being gigantic bitch. She said I didn't look I was trying hard enough at boot camp and my clothes were unflattering (which is MomSpeak for fat). She has a tendency to exaggerate and doesn't really listen to me.

And the icing on the bitter cake, I lost something I really love.

Fucking miserable!!!

Oh no! That stinks! It seems like moms have the unique ability to offend us royally.

Take care of yourself tonight. Maybe take a hot bath or eat a slice of pie or snuggle with your sweetie.

Also, I hope you find whatever it is that you lost.

Moms can sometimes be our toughest critics. My mom just wants me to wear WHAT SHE WANTS & tells me I look awful when I'm wearing something I like.

All you can do is be yourself & kick some boot camp ass.

Thanks for the support, ladies!

WTF, I can't believe your mom said that to you. Maybe I'm in the minority (based on the other comments) but my mom has never spoken to me that way, and I would be beyond hurt if she did. I"m sorry. :(

I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Les: it's all I've been able to think about for 5 days :(

It's funny. I often don't believe my mother when she compliments me, because believe that she is biased but it always hits hard when she criticizes me.

The mother daughter relationship is a rough one.
